Description

Teaching & reviewing book care and how to treat library books is an important part of your back-to-school library curriculum. These editable read-aloud activities make it easy for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classes to learn how to take care of their library books.

The teacher-librarian reads aloud one of the picture book recommendations, and after listening to the story, students complete one of the activities during the rest of library class.

• Activity #3 – Students cut, paste, and sort the book images into “Book Hospital” and “Ready to Read” columns.
• Activity #4 – A full-color version of the cut-and-paste activity to laminate to reuse year after year.
